If you're looking for something to do on this Fall evening, here's a thought, check out The Big E .
It's Connecticut Day and Governor Jodi Rell even took part in all the festivities.
A huge crowd, not as big as previous years but plenty to see and plenty to eat.
This year the Connecticut Building is jam packed with 45 home grown merchants.
And on Connecticut Day, it is always the busiest spot at the fair.
"Lots of jewelry here, lots of food, it's great. I got a lot of free samples of stuff, and pumpkin ice cream," MacKenzie Campbell, of Hamden, said.
That would be Billy's Old Fashioned Ice Cream from Bethany. Frankie's Famous hot dogs from Waterbury is here and so is Tai Taste from New Haven.
Danny's Little Taste of Texas from South Windsor is in the spirit with Texas-size potatoes bigger than the ones at the state of Maine.
That's just a sample of the food at the Connecticut Building.
Remember this is a six-state fair, the largest in New England, one of the largest in the country.
"We've been coming here since 1963 when we moved to Groton," Armad Morin said. "Something new every year, we love the state buildings and meeting people."
And you can't forget the much-talked about Cra-Z burger, a cheese burger with bacon in a grilled, glazed donut.
After that you can go to the huge midway and see if you can keep it down.
In addition to all that, there's all kinds of shopping from jewelry to tractors.
