CT Honor Flight takes vets to DC

    Hartford (WTNH) - Some local veterans went through a long and wonderful day. The trip brought back some old memories for the 100 veterans, while it made some new ones for their family and friends.

     

    Vets could hardly contain themselves this morning. They had been thinking about the tour of D.C. for weeks.

    The trip was special, that's for sure. But it was the welcome home that the families and friends were excited about. The anticipation building for family and friends, they wanted to make it oh so memorable.

    The reception exceeded expectations. They reminded one vet of his return and parade in the Big Apple.

    The American Warriors organization said the trip was a big success. They plan to conduct others in the near future.
