Obese fighting eviction and Occupy NHVN

(WTNH) - Folks are sounding off about a New Haven family fighting eviction and Occupy New Haven moving off the town green.

"The people need to move out. I mean if they're breaking the rules they just need to move out," said Jim of Oakdale. "Don't blame the weight of your son, that's ridiculous."

"This is a very disgusting news report. I can't believe what's going on with this poor gentleman. If anything reporting him or the story, it should be finding people to help him and his family to try to get him some help, you know instead of trying to evict him," said Trish of North Haven.

"I bet he's on disability because of his obesity, and I'll bet his mother and him are living off of his disability," said Liz of Fairfield. "And who's paying for that, us taxpayers. We're paying all the bills for them to create a problem, and create a problem for this landlord. That's all on us. I've got no respect for these people and the landlord should throw them out."

"It's time the judges in our court system need to be replaced. To allow those squatters to remain on the New Haven Green for another two weeks is ludicrous, and it was a judge who allowed that, they need to go," said Elle of Seymour. The city needs to have the authority to get them out now."

"I'm calling to congratulate the Occupy New Haven people. I fully stand behind them. I wish I could be there to join you myself. God bless you all," said Paul of Norwich.
