WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH)-- Depending on your age, this blizzard might test your patience or have you celebrating.

When asked if she was happy not to be in school, Fiona Haggerty said "yeah!"

A unanimous sentiment among Fiona Haggerty and her sisters.

"Really happy!" said both Teresa and Savannah Haggerty.

School's out but plenty of folks aren't staying in, opting for some comfort food at the IHOP in Wallingford.

"We figured we'd come and get some breakfast before it started, and then go hunker down for the weekend," said Patrick Haggerty, of Meriden.

"Actually, I scheduled a vacation day a couple weeks ago, and it turned out to be a huge storm," said Mike Sorota, of Wallingford.

Well, we kind of figured that the kids would be happy to be off school, kind of like betting on the sunrise or the snowfall, but who knew that IHOP would be hopping so much?

"I was very surprised, very.  Good, very good.  Alright guys, gotta go, busy busy!" said Julie Cleroux, who works at IHOP.

Knowing roads will only get worse, we thought we'd ask what patrons know about safe driving.

When asked the law requires that, if you have your windshield wipers on, you have what else running in your car?

"Your headlights," said Heather Sorota, of Wallingford.

"Your headlights?" said Kyle Phipps, of Haddam.

Not bad for a 14-year-old, especially considering Dad learned the hard way.

Well, yeah, I'd gotten a ticket for that years ago, same thing, getting off an off-ramp, wipers going, no headlights on," said Rich Phipps.

If you get stuck somewhere in your car, do you stay with the car or go somewhere else?

"Stay with the car and keep your flashers on," said Phipps.

 Oh, bonus points, the flashers!

Finally, what to do with your car after a crash, if you can, until help arrives?

"Get it off the road?" said  Phipps.

Might as well just give him his license now.  Just don't give him any homework.  The weekend has just begun!
