Stuck trucks, and mom evicted by son

(WTNH) - Folks still want to know why trucks continue to get stuck under bridges, and how a son could evict his own mother.

"I'm just disgusted about the story about the man that wants to evict his mom. The 98-year-old lady. It's all about money," said Al of Milford.  "He wants her out of there so he can sell her house. You know what things go around in a circle, and some day some things going to come back to bite him you know where and, I hope it's soon."

"Truck drivers just want to take short cuts to get their stuff delivered. I work for the railroad, and bridges are getting hit all the time and they are properly marked. Truck drivers are just not paying attention," said anonymous from Willimantic.

"I think we need to stop blaming structures like bridges and signs, and start looking at the people driving these vehicles, there's something wrong with them," said anonymous from Hamden.

"I'm responding to the all of these trucks hitting low under passes and bridges," said Bill of Branford. "I've been a truck driver for 26 years and I've always known the height of my trailer. If I came upon a bridge or trestle and wasn't sure, I'd bring my speed down to a crawl and get out and look. The signs can be misleading. The state of CT needs to go back to re- measure the bridges, put up new signs."

"What does that prove, that men text more than women? What is the basis of that? You should have followed up with how many accidents are caused by men or women. Just that men text more, maybe there's more men on the road. I mean it's just that simple," said Steve of Seymour.
