(WTNH) -- Lots of talk among our viewers these past couple days about: gas prices, violent crimes, and the state's death penalty ban.

Dennis from New Haven said, "the reason why we have these kind of senseless crimes where convenience store owners get shot for no reason at all is directly due to the fact that there is no consequence for the kind of crimes. Show me a person that can reinstate the death sentence on a national level...and I'll show you the next President of the United States.

Sophie from Startford said, "I'm calling in response to the woman who said the reason why people are robbing convenience stores is because of gas prices too high. I totally disagree with her. I mean if people are robbing because of gas prices, this is really a sick country."

Ron from New Haven said, "I'm a laid off tanker truck driver and I can tell you right now why you are paying such high gasoline prices in Connecticut. It's got nothing to do with the refineries. It's got nothing to do with the hurricanes. It's all the Democrats with their unbelievable taxes here in Connecticut and nationwide on petroleum based products. Because we haven't figured out how to use a freaking windmill yet."
