(WTNH) --  Many of you are weighing in on the issue of gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, you're also talking about whether teachers should be armed. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.

Anonymous from Branford said, "President Obama's news conference on gun control...he answered a question on the fiscal cliff, he should have skirted that and stuck with the gun control. It was a slap in the face to the survivors."

Shay from New Haven said, "guns are put here for your personal protection, not to be shooting like we're in the army somewhere. We are not in the army, these are assault rifles that should only be used with our national defense, and this is not something that people should be able to just go and buy. If it wasn't available, then it wouldn't happen."

Eric from Middlefield said, "if we can take a lesson from the drug war, it's not gonna work. A person that wants to kill is gonna be able to get a gun without a problem, just like an addict can get his drug of choice with no problem at all."

Dave from Hamden said, "I think if one teacher, or one administrator, had a gun last Friday, I think things would have turned out a lot different than they did. I think teachers, providing they're trained properly and licensed, should be able to carry concealed handguns to work each and every day."
