(WTNH) -- Tonight many of have a lot to say about a proposed bill requiring you to get your car inspected by the DMV if it has more than 100,000 miles on it. The bill is being proposed by State Representative Tom Vicino of Clinton. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.
Pat from North Haven said, "Representative Vicino is like most representatives, a business owner, but he's a business owner of an auto repair shop. It would financially benefit him and him alone. That means he's more of a carpet bagger than a politician."
Mary from East Lyme said, "The state wants us to have our cars tested, inspected by the motor vehicles, come on now give me a break. Our licenses went up, our registrations keep going up, our car taxes go up depending upon where you live, then you have to have emissions testing. A lot of us can't afford brand new cars. We have old cars, we keep our old cars or we buy used cars."
Carmine from New Haven said, "It's really sad that we have to teach parents how not to endanger their children by smoking in the car. They should already know that, just like putting a seat belt on them to keep them safe. Shame on the parents that don't take into consideration the safety of their children."
