(WTNH) -- Tonight many of you are weighing in on some plans that would change rules on the road. A proposal calling for inspections on vehicles with 100,000 miles has you sounding off. Here's tonight's Voice of The People.
Carol from Waterbury said, "Who's to say a new car doesn't have bad wipers, or a blown out signal light, or a blown out tail light or bad muffler. It happens to newer cars also. Why not inspect every car for safety? Just do everybody's, don't discriminate."
Steve from Seymour said, "Have every car do it, who's to say what blinkers don't work or what wipers are bad?"
Mary from East Lyme said, "They're going to pass a law that we have to have CPR certification so we can intervene. I'd like to know what happens if the person now sees someone that's about to have a heart attack. And they decide to intervene and help and they crack the person's ribs, they injure the person. And the person decides to sue the person who did the CPR. Is the state going to intervene and pay for lawyers fees and court costs to defend that person who intervened?"
Patrick from Beacon Falls said, "About the smoking in cars being illegal, let's make tobacco illegal completely. There's no reason for it to be on the market. And as soon as they stop the cell phone use in cars, that's the most dangerous thing I've seen in my 37 years driving, then we can start worrying about someone else's kids."
