(WTNH) - There have been many hot button issues in the news from deporting illegal immigrants, to education reform and News 8 viewers have been sounding off on them.
"In regards to the gentlemen who was equating Muslims to being terrorists. Most of the students in this country, Muslim students being investigated in this country are our citizens, and Muslims are not terrorists. I think they are doing a gross disservice to the people of this country," said Jim from Waterbury.
"I'd like to weigh in on the Governor's plan to eliminate tenured teachers," said Mark from North Haven. "Perhaps a plan to hold the politicians to the same level that you are going to hold teachers, if you're going to base teachers performances on grade scores of the students, maybe we should base politicians' performances on the economy of the state."
"I'm looking at the story with the mom who used a baby-sitter's address for her son to get an education, and she's sitting in jail. Well what address should she use if she's homeless," asked Janice in New Haven.
"I'm calling because I am very upset about these illegal immigrants in this country and I have to pay $700 to become an American, and these people are getting away with it," said Doreen in Beacon Falls. "What wrong with the Mayor of New Haven you know, is he looking for votes."
"I would like to know why fuel is not regulated as many other public commodities such as cable TV, electricity, and natural gas," said David in North Branford.
