(WTNH) -- Some of you are supporting Speaker of the House John Boehner's decision to hold off a vote on that Sandy relief bill. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.
Craig from Connecticut said, "We spend billions over in the Middle East, and that's okay, nobody questions that. But we got people right next door or down the street, on our shoreline and the other states outside of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, and we're not getting help."
Anonymous said, "The reason Congress turned down that vote was because it was loaded with pork. There was funding for the Smithsonian roof, there was planting trees in other states, but it was so loaded with pork, that's why they turned it down."
Rose from Trumbull said, "I would definitely like to help those people that were in Hurricane Sandy, but I don't want...I want it to be a clean bill, I don't want it to be loaded with earmarks. If they could just make a clean bill I think a lot more people would vote for it."
Paul from Meriden said, "I hope the 113th Congress coming in has a whole new outlook as the people, I'm a Democrat and I'll tell you what, I'm so fed up with both parties."
Susan from Milford said, "I just want to mention to the Sandy Hook students and the teachers, congratulations on your new school and I hope you enjoy it."
