(WTNH) -- Many of you are fired up about one state lawmaker's proposal to make the names of handgun permit owners public. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.

Rosemarie from Milford said, "I absolutely believe that we should have the list of names of people who own guns, you know, if you have children and they have sleepovers, that's very important to all of us as parents and grandparents."

Armando from Connecticut said, "It's a violation of my privacy, and anyone else who owns a gun. I don't see what purpose it serves to publicize the fact whether or not I have a permit, other than letting criminals know exactly where to go to try and steal my firearms."

Lee from Manchester said, "Why is our Governor wasting money on a gun control committee? The honest people obey the laws, the scumbags will get guns no matter what."

Fred from Norwalk said, "I'm very happy with Governor Malloy's new idea about gun control. Maybe they should make these people that sell these guns and magazines accountable, maybe there should be a more in-depth background check on people."

Sheila from New Haven said, "I think because of where Attorney Pinsky's office is located, he probably got some stray bullets because there's a lot of shooting in the area at times, however, I don't really think anybody's shooting at him, he just wants the publicity."
