Voice of the People: Jan. 7, 2013

(WTNH) --  A lot of you have something to say about a plan allowing illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.

Wayne from Branford said, "They are illegal. And why do law-abiding citizens have to follow the rules and illegal people doing illegal acts all of a sudden are going to get a free ride? I think it is wrong, and it's a slap in the face to everybody who follows the law to the letter."

Joe from Waterbury said, "Now I'm starting to get worried they're going to start taking our jobs, all these illegals are going to get their licenses, they're going to be driving tractor trailers, construction, dump trucks, taxi cabs and limousines and school buses, and where are we going to get our jobs?"

Bill from Waterbury said, "Do the politicians of Connecticut actually believe that by giving these people licenses they're going to carry the correct amount of insurance just to drive cars, and they're going to register cars correctly? I don't think so."

Floria from Derby said, "Undocumented immigrants should be allowed to have a drivers license. I think it's a good idea."

Ralph from New Haven said, "It'll help out the state, it'll have less accidents, it'll have more people insured on the road, and it'll help out the people that already are driving without any license and no insurance, to get insurance and to get a license."
