Callers question mice infestation story

(WTNH) -- A couple of stories in the news that have people fired up are the dead mice in a Meriden public housing complex and a California dad caught on tape whipping his step-son during a game of catch.

"I've seen the video, and that video doesn't show anything besides the man. He tapped his kid on the behind, which if it was for the reason of not being able to hit a ball, that is not right. But you don't know what it really was, you don't see the whole video, just a little piece. And everyone needs to calm down," said Lisa in Milford.

"I am very disturbed by what I saw," said Denise in Bridgeport. "It's clearly just because he can't catch a ball. No reason to whip a child. And he whipped that kid hard and the kids was crying. And it'd like to know what the mother was doing about the situation."

"I can't believe that these people can't go out and buy themselves a mouse trap and stick a piece of cheese on it and get rid of the mice," said Jim in Ridgefield. "I get mice in my house every fall. It's a common occurrence in Connecticut. Just be a little proactive and take care of yourself and don't rely on WTNH and the government to do everything for you."

"And they can't even keep their place clean and that's why the mice are there," said Mike in Branford. "If they kept the place clean, the mice wouldn't be there."
