(WTNH) -- Callers sounded off on a lot of topics, from the heat to making fun of a bus monitor and even the discovery of a body under a pier in New London.

"Stop scaring people about the heat," said George in Ansonia. "We understand it. Your graphics make them more afraid. Stop scaring people about the heat. We know how to handle it. We know how to take care of each other."

"I think it is so disrespectful, those children making fun of that bus monitor. I think that the children should be punished," said Louise in New London.

"They should charge the people at the shelters when they turn people away, I don't care, they could pack that thing until their standing room only," said Joan in Manchester.

"I'm all in favor about fixing the field for the kids but I just think $11 million is just too much money for the field," said Pete in New Haven. I really think the community should get together and volunteer. And I think that money should be spend more wisely and budgeted."
