(WTNH) -- We struck a nerve with a story about texting, and young people losing their social skills and got flooded with calls from fire-up viewers.

"All the kids, all they do is text," said Betty in East Haven. "People are rude. You could be in a conversation and they're on their phone. That's what happens when the company and the family, parents give the kids unlimited texting. Yeah they're gonna be on their phone."

"I mean it's all great to be able to maintain communication but it's affecting a lot. Not only socializing with the family, but I also do believe it is an interruption in classrooms with teachers in schools in general," said Jenny in Wallingford. "But that is today's technology as my children like to call me the old dinosaur."

"Yep I agree. Vocal Cords will become extinct the same way the appendix did, and people didn't know what that organ was in us for," said Gary in New Haven. "They'll say 'what are these things?' Well they won't say it, they'll text it."

"I think it's good. In some situations it's bad. If you're in a relationship it's a very easy way to get away with lying, and shadiness," said Richard in New Haven.
