(WTNH) - A lot of our viewers are sounding on the bill to repeal the state's death penalty.

"I'm calling about repealing the death penalty," said Annette in New Haven. "I think that's a joke. We should enforce it if anything. I believe in an eye for an eye, if you kill somebody you should be killed. You shouldn't be living your live out in jail. You take a life, you give up your life."

"The only benefit of the death penalty over life without parole is deterrence, which does not happen if the sentence is never carried out," said Patrick in Stratford. "Therefore, legislate the time within which the sentence must be carried out by law."

"Watching the newscast about the lawsuit that has been filed on behalf of or by the lady who injured by the chimp," said John in Plainfield. "It's unimaginable for other people what she went through and what she bravely has faced since that time. but i do not feel that the citizens of the state of Connecticut owe her $150 million."

"Driving the minimum wage up to $10 an hour doesn't do anything for anyone because all it will do is drive the food prices up, it's gonna drive the restaurants and small business owners out of business," said Gary in West Haven.
