(WTNH) -- Many people have a lot to say about a Meriden police officer being indicted on federal charges in a brutality case. And some people have ideas on ways to curb distracted driving in tonight's Voice of the People.
Sharon of Watertown said, "Just saw commentary on cell phones and not using them while you're driving, I agree with that. But having it set up so that when you start your car your phone stops, is not a good idea. The passenger should be able to use their cell phone number one, and if you are in your car and there is an emergency. It is not a good idea to not be able to use it."
Tom of New Haven said, "I used to fly Denny McClain around, He won the CY Young Award in 1968. Anyways since the twinkie factor is having problems, striking or what not I was talking to Denny and asked him how he got to be such a good baseball player, and he said I owe it all to twinkies. That's what he told me, so I thought that was pretty funny."
Pam of West Haven said, "I'm calling in regards to the police officer that pushed the gentleman down and he hit his head and then lied about it. He should not be on the force. He should not be on anyone's police force. Bad people like that make it bad for the ones that are good. Get them outta there thank you."
Tom of Danielson said, "Who do these people think they are? They've got a badge, a gun and a uniform and we the tax payers have to pay for this nonsense, this is crazy."
Leona of New Haven said, "I love watching Channel 8 News, it's direct, it is just perfect for what I feel news should produce, as far as what they show, so thank you again for being a great news station in my opinion."
