(WTNH) -- Everybody is talking about Hostess calling it quits after decades of making iconic treats like Twinkies. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.
Mary from East Lyme said "I think it's a shame that a company that's been around for as many years as they have, has to go out of business. I think the bakers oughta call back their workers, call back their union members, and re-vote. I think they were so stupid to do what they did, knowing that Hostess was in bankruptcy. It wasn't a typical issue, or typical situation where the union can say, wait a minute, you're making all the money and I'm not. They should never have voted to go on strike and I feel sorry for those people who are now losing their jobs at this time of the year."
Gary from New Haven said, "It's probably because we have too much government in our life. The government has to regulate everything we eat. We grew up with Hostess Twinkies, cupcakes, we ate them, they weren't part of our daily diet, it was a treat to have them. They weren't gonna kill us if we ate them."
Felisha said, "I'm gonna miss my Wonder Bread. That's like my childhood, I've been eating it since a child, I'm going to miss Wonder Bread. I don't know what's going to happen, I'm just upset right now."
