WTNH-- Folks sounding off on letting juveniles who've committed violent crimes have a chance at parole and an act of kindness by a New York police officer.

Here's tonight's Voice of the People.

Dennis from New Haven said, "I think juveniles should get the same punishment, that's what's wrong with Connecticut now and that's why all these teens are doing a lot of shooting and killing, because there's no death penalty no more. And yet, they could go to jail and then get out and have a second chance? When you take a life, you should give yours."

Anonymous said, "should the young kids be able to have a second chance when they do a crime under a certain age? I think that they should, I think that they're still considered as kids."

Andrea from Old Lyme said about the Charla Nash Settlement, "I think that she should get every dime of the money in the estate of the owner of that chimpanzee, but I don't think she should be able to sue the state. She was aware that the monkey was dangerous, she said so herself, and she should have called 9-1-1 to help the owner, instead of jumping in there herself. She made the choice to get involved."

Mary Kay from Hamden said, "I would just like to congratulate that young officer in New York that gave brand new boots to that homeless person that had none. This is what the holiday is all about, more of us should do this."
