(WTNH) -- Folks across the shoreline are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy. And they have a lot to say about the work being done to start rebuilding, plus the decision to postpone Halloween. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.

Donna from Milford said, "what they should've focused on is teaching our children that sometimes there are losses in life that perhaps, giving up something like Halloween to maybe go down to the evacuation shelters to make some family that just lost their homes smile."

Anonymous from New Haven said, "instead of all these political ads on tv bashing each other and all the money that's invested in it. Why not put it into the people of the state of CT and NJ and NY that have just gone through traumatic damage again for the second year in a row. Invest it in that, invest it in fixing towns and the cities and the people."

Ester from Milford said, "the UI looking for a rate increase, which I feel is completely unacceptable. I do not feel the job was done to the expectations. I live in Milford, Sunday evening, did not get my power back until late Friday afternoon."

Marie from Trumbull said, "I want to thank the utility men for the fine job that they did, in spite of all those people throwing eggs and everything on them. I think it's ridiculous and I want to say thanks to the police department, the public works department and the fire department."
