(WTNH) -- In tonight's Voice of the People callers are sounding off about a roller rink refusing to lift it's "no hat" policy for a breast cancer patient who is losing her hair from chemo. They are also talking about a Mayor who told firefighters in Bristol who threw on pink t-shirts to support breast cancer awareness month, that they need to leave the shirts at home.
Joe from Wolcott said, "about the pink shirts that the firefighters are not allowed to wear because of that Mayor. Ask how many votes he's going to get from women in the next election coming up. I don't think he's going to get too many, I know I wouldn't vote for him and I'm a guy."
Bob from Bristol said, "let the firefighters wear pink t-shirts to support breast cancer awareness. A lot of people suffer from this terrible, terrible thing and they should get all the support that the firefighters can give them. I don't know what's wrong with this Mayor, are you kidding me?"
Cheryl from East Haven said, "I guess the Mayor of Bristol doesn't have anyone in the family with any kind of breast cancer, or doesn't care about breast cancer awareness."
Allison from Woodbridge said, "about the unfortunate story about the woman at the skating rink with her two daughters on Monday; I think we should boycott the skating rink and she should call the ACLU and report it to them. She wanted to have a good day with their kids and they took that away from her."
Anonymous from Meriden said, "this message is for the weather people on Channel 8. Please leave the 8-day forecast on the screen for at least 12 seconds, so that we elderly people can absorb, each days weather, would appreciate it, thanks, bye."
