(WTNH) -- People are still fired up about a roller rink refusing to let a breast cancer patient inside because of a 'no-hat' policy. And East Haven's Mayor is getting an award that not everyone is supportive of. Here's tonight's Voice of the People.
Jim from East Haven said, "I definitely don't think the Mayor should get an award, especially concerning Ronald Reagan, what he got. All the trouble that he's been in with the Latinos, I don't think he deserves it at all."
Ted from Seymour said, "they're giving an award to their embattled Mayor. Come on, what a cheap trick that is. Like we can't figure out that that's just a stunt."
Theresa from Middletown said, "I'm calling about that story regarding the woman who was not allowed to go into the rollerskating rink. I think that's just absolutely horrible, they should be ashamed of themselves. That woman was just looking to enjoy a fun day with her children. It's absolutely horrific and I think this place should be boycotted."
Steve from Oxford said, "was it really worth risking driving the roller rink into bankruptcy and all of its employees losing their jobs if they had broken the rules voiding their insurance and allowed one woman to wear her hat while skating and there had been an accident. I don't think so. All she had to do was take off her hat and proudly show her baldness like Farrah Faucet and so many others have done."
Deborah from Orange said, "that's their policy and their policy is clearly stated on the building, their flyers, their website. And I think that this woman has blown this totally out of proportion and she is not a victim. They have rules and the rules have to be abided by."
Mary from Milford said, "let the firemen wear the pink t-shirts, so what, they look kind of cute in them."
