Torrington, Conn. (WTNH) - Two people were arrested outside a home for drug possession.
The incident happened around 5:00pm. Police were at a home on Laurel Hill Avenue to conduct an interview on an unrelated incident when a vehicle pulled into the driveway.
As Robert "Tampa" Burke, 25, and Michelle Lillis, 41, exited the vehicle, they attempted to conceal items in their pockets. However, one officer noticed a glass smoking pipe sticking out of one of the Burke's pants pocket.
Officer then searched the two individuals. Burke had in his possession 1.33 grams of crack cocaine, 22 bags of heroin, 2 Suboxone pills, a glass smoking pipe and .92 grams of a marijuana cigar blunt. Lillis had a small smoking pipe and .95 grams of marijuana.
Burke was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital after he admitted that he had ingested several bags of Heroin.
Both Burke and Lillis were arrested and charged with various drug charges.
