MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a Meriden apartment.
The bodies of a man and a woman were found inside an apartment on Eddy Avenue.
Neighbors say the two were boyfriend and girlfriend who were known to argue.
Police say they got a call from the woman's daughter Tuesday morning because she was concerned. Shortly after, there was a crime scene.
"10:50 officers responded, got no answer, looked inside the window and saw something wasn't right so they forced entry," said Detective Lt. Mark Walerysiak, "that's when they saw two individuals deceased with gunshot wounds."
Yolanda Suarez lives down at the end of the street and came over to see why there was a crime scene. Then, she says it became clear.
"We were looking at something in the backyard when we heard a 'pop pop' sound," Suarez said.
She says that was around one o'clock Monday afternoon.
"I can't tell the difference between firecrackers and gunshots," said Suarez, "so we ran inside."
Neighbors don't know the couples names, but see them sitting outside a lot.
"I heard that they were fighting, arguments there, but because I live on that end I wouldn't know if it was true or not," Suarez said.
"I know he gets drunk and he used to argue a lot," said Angela Sindo.
All of the neighbors are hoping the victim's families get some answers soon.
"It's tragic," said Suarez. "I can't believe somebody would do something like that."
Meriden Police say it's still early in the investigation, but they do believe this was a murder-suicide. If so, this would be the second one within the last few years.
This may be hard to believe in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, but an annual …
