Middlebury, Conn. (WTNH) - Police arrested three men allegedly responsible for recent car break-ins around the state, one of whom was also wanted for escape.
A joint meeting was held on January 4th by State Police officers, state probation officers, state parole officers and local police to share information about recent car break-ins that had been occurring throughout New Haven, Litchfield, and Fairfield counties.
At the meeting, three suspects, who police say had been targeting gym parking lots, walking trail parking lots, and church parking lots, were identified.
Police later learned that one of the suspects, Alfred W. Gfroehrer, 38, was also wanted by Connecticut Parole for first-degree escape.
On Friday, January 6th, Gfroehrer, was spotted driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan and arrested at the corner of Walnut Street and North Walnut Street, in Waterbury.
The following day, police arrested the two remaining suspects, William Beck, 31, of 50 Mango Circle, Watertown, and Neil Lorusso, 30, of East Main Street, Waterbury, shortly after they broke into a vehicle at the Woodbury Ski Area.
