30 busted in Waterbury prostitution sting

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- 17 women and 13 men face prostitution related charges after a bust of prostitutes and "johns" in Waterbury Thursday.

This went down in the Willow/Hillside/Grove area of Waterbury.

Police say two undercover male officers arrested the women after they offered to perform sex acts for money. And two female officers posed as prostitutes and were approached by men looking to pay for sex.

"Thursday night's operation is part of an ongoing effort to address quality of life issues in the Hillside neighborhood and the entire city," Captain Chris Corbett, Waterbury police, said.
