SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)-- Five teens were arrested for their roles in stealing firearms from a Southington home.
Police say that two juveniles and Brooke Palmer,18, of Southington, found handguns stored in locked closet at a home. They took four handguns and ammunition, before storing them at different residences for about a week.
During this time, the two juveniles fired the guns into a tree in a wooded area, in the West side of Southington.
Perry Sharp, 18, of Southington, was later given one of the stolen guns, which was later recovered in his car by police.
Police also found that Jeremy Reilly,18, of New Britain, was improperly storing two of the stolen guns in a residence.
Police say they also found marijuana packaged for sale, which they linked back to one of the juveniles.
Both 17-year-old boys, from Southington, were charged with larceny of a firearm, conspiracy to commit larceny, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and transfer of a firearm to a person under 21.
One juvenile was additionally charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. They were both transferred to juvenile detention.
Palmer was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny of a firearm, criminal liability for acts of another/larceny of a firearm, and reckless endangerment. She was held on $25,000 bond.
Reilly was charged with reckless endangerment, improper storage of firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and larceny. He was held on $25,000 bond.
Sharp was charged with weapons in a vehicle and larceny. He was held on $5,000 bond.
All of the guns and nearly 100 rounds of ammunition were recovered by police and no further arrests are expected at this time.
