WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two men were taken to the hospital after being struck with a broken plate during a diner dispute in West Hartford.
While on routine patrol, an officer drove through the parking lot of 61 Kane St., Gold Roc, and reported a large group of people at the diner.
The officer called off on a special detail to monitor the crowd. Then while the officer was at the front of the diner a fight broke out in the back.
Two tables got into a verbal argument, which then escalated into a fight. Two people sustained facial lacerations as the result of a plate being thrown. One of the injured parties was not involved in the fight, but was sitting at a table eating his meal when a piece of broken plate struck him in the face.
In all, there were between 10-15 people involved in the fight, seven of whom were arrested at the scene.
The two men injured by the broken plate were both taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
The following were arrested and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree riot, and second-degree reckless endangerment: 30-year-old Chantell Detress Paris, 27-year-old Diana D. Rodriguez, 37-year-old Jason T. Chapman, 22-year-old Tamara L. Lucas, 36-year-old Wayne Robinson, 34-year-old Christopher Derron Chapman, and 28-year-old Osniel Gonzalez.
