WOLCOTT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police made a weapons and drug arrest while they were on the scene investigating a shooting in a Wolcott neighborhood.

A Wolcott resident called police after he thought his house had been shot at Sunday night.

The man called police Monday afternoon after he noticed damage to his home on Averyll Avenue.

Police believe a metal ball bearing struck the home and the projectile had been fired from a slingshot or wrist rocket-type device.

As police were investigating, officers noticed a parked truck in front of the house and one officer saw a large knife sitting upright inside.

48-year-old Stephen Bosco, the truck's owner, allowed police to search the car where officers retried a 7.5 inch long Black American Angler knife along with a set of handcuffs, a pistol grip Kbar knife, pepper spray, 10 white pills of Endocet in a Zip-lock bag.

According to the Department of Motor Vehicles the truck's registration had been canceled due to a lack of insurance.

Bosco was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle without insurance, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of narcotics and failure to keep prescription drugs in their original container.

He was released after posting $500 bond and will appear in Superior Court on June 14th.

It's not clear that Bosco was involved in the shooting incident the night before. Police say that case is still under investigation.
