BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Police say they caught a Bridgeport mother at a post office trying to pick up a package containing 4½ pounds of marijuana and pot-laced baked goods she planned to sell to support her family.

The Connecticut Post reports that 32-year-old Cristina Costa was charged Wednesday with marijuana possession crimes. Police say the package was from California and addressed to Costa.

Authorities say officers with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force were waiting for Costa when she showed up at the Bayview Post Office in Bridgeport.

Police say Costa told them she's unemployed and was trying to make some money for herself and her young child.

Costa posted bail. She couldn't be reached for comment. There's no phone listing for her and it's not clear if she has a lawyer.
