NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a Connecticut man and his son face a sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 after participating in the sale of stolen firearms to people working for law enforcement agencies.

Prosecutors say 24-year-old Corey Williams Jr. of Meriden and his 43-year-old father, Khalid Aziz, participated in the sale of two shotguns and a semi-automatic rifle they knew were stolen.

U.S. District Attorney David Fein says the two men pleaded guilty Friday to one count of sale of stolen firearms. Sentencing is set for January 2013.

Their conviction stems from the Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative that seeks to reduce gun and gang violence.

Prosecutors say Aziz went by several aliases including Corey Williams Sr., Avery Smith, Gregory Richardson and Andre Gorham. His son was also known as Little Corey.
