New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - A 17-year old juvenile is facing a laundry list of charges after New Haven Police busted him for allegedly dealing drugs then running from police.
The suspect's name is not being released to to his age, but police say he was charged with sale of narcotics within 1,500 feet from a school, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, intent to sell narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a hallucinogenic substance, possession of a hallucinogenic substance within 1,500 feet from a school, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a pistol with a obliterated serial number and criminal use of a firearm.
The bust took place on Greenwich Avenue in the Hill section of the city. The operation was initiated after The New Haven Police Tactical Narcotics Unit (TNU) received numerous complaints of drug dealing and disorder from a home in the area.
The TNU made a undercover purchase of "crack" cocaine from the suspect. As officers tried to arrest the subject, he took off. The suspect was taken into custody moments later and found to be in possession of "crack" cocaine, ecstasy and a 9mm handgun.
The juvenile is being held on $250,000 bond.
