VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man is facing drunk driving charges after slamming into a Vernon police cruiser.
It happened around 1:15 Thursday morning on East Main and Grove Street.
Officer Richard Tedford was stopped at a traffic light on Grove Street and was hit when 45-year-old Robert Reinoso of 99 Old Kent Road in Tolland hit the police car when trying to turn onto Grove Street.
Officer Tedford was taken to Rockville Hospital with minor injuries. He's since been released.
Reinoso was charged for driving under the influence, failing to drive right and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
Bond was set at $50,000 and a court date was set for Nov. 15.
