MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Newington man was arrested after he broke into his ex-girlfriends home in Middletown and then hid from police in a dryer.
The woman told police she was inside her home on Rose Circle on Monday when her ex-boyfriend, 35-year-old Julio Velasquez, kicked in the rear door and entered the home. She ran away and called police.
When police arrived, they say they found Velasquez hiding in a clothes dryer in the basement.
He was arrested and charged with burglary, interfering with an officer, criminal mischief and breach of peach.
He was held on a $50,000 surety bond,
Police say Velasquez has an extensive criminal history that includes assault, escape, several burglary charges, and probation violations.
