NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are searching for two men who claimed to be employees of a water company and pushed their way into a home in Newington.
The incident occurred just after 1 p.m., at 910 Willard Ave.
According to police, two men claimed to be employees of a water company and pushed their way into the home, while it was occupied by the homeowners, both senior citizens.
The suspects entered several rooms within the home explaining they needed to test the water. During the course of the crime, one of the suspects took a cordless phone away from the homeowner in order to prevent her from calling for help.
The suspects, who are described as Caucasian or light-skinned Hispanic males, fled the scene in a vehicle described as a dark grey or dark green work van.
No one was injured during the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
