NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are searching for two armed suspects who held up a Newington 7-Eleven.

The armed Hispanic men held up the store at 461 New Britain Avenue just after 10 a.m. Thursday night.

The clerk told police one of them held a knife to his throat while the other, armed with a handgun, climbed over the counter and demanded cash from the register.

The pair left with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The clerk was not injured.

Police believe the suspects fled the scene in an older, dark-colored sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Newington Police Department Detective Division at 860-666-8445.
