Armed men rob group home

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CT Post) -- Four armed men robbed a group home on Iranistan Avenue Friday night, taking cash from a safe inside the facility, police said.

The men entered the house -- an eight-bed transitional living center that provides housing for men and women with psychiatric disabilities -- through a rear door, put at gun in the face of a staff member and demanded money from the safe, police said. After the staff member opened the safe, the men took the cash and ran from the scene.

None of the residents were in the area when the robbery occurred. The staff member was not hurt.
