NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- Two suspects in a November armed robbery were arrested on gun charges, after police searched their home in New Haven on Tuesday.
Tyron Hammond, 30, of New Haven and Edward Booker, 38, also of New Haven, were charged with criminal possession of a firearm, after police executed warrants of their home on 79 Chambers Street.
Police found a .22 caliber JC Higgins, model 88 revolver in the bedroom both men share. Hammond attempted to flee through a back door when police arrived.
Hammond was involved in another incident with police on December 1, when his girlfriend told police Hammond had a gun and threatened to shoot her. An arrest warrant for possession of a firearm and threatening was then obtained.
Evidence of the November 15th Dixwell Avenue armed robbery, in which both men are suspects in, was not found, however.
