Bridgeport, Conn. (WTNH) - Bridgeport police have arrested a teenager they believe is responsible for at least one home invasion and sex assault in the Black Rock section of the city.
17-year-old Terrence Easton was arrested Thursday in connection with one of two sexual assaults and home invasions within the last two weeks. Police say they believe Easton was involved in both cases.
Police say an armed man gained entry into separate homes in the area of Hope and Monroe streets and sexually assaulted two women who were home alone.
"This individual not only committed sexual assault which in it of itself is a violent act," said Bridgeport Police Captain James Viadero. "But the point that he entered someone's house in the evening and confronted these individuals and committed assault made it that more horrific in our eyes." Viadero went on to say that there is a lot more forensic evidence that needs to be analyzed.
"I think there is something wrong," said Curtis Gay the suspect's father. "I don't think he did it."
However, news of the arrest has residents breathing a sigh of relief in the community.
"I'm glad they finally caught them. I got a 12-year old daughter and with him running around here I don't feel safe with her in the house by herself, so I'm glad they got him," said Chris Walker of Bridgeport.
Easton is charged with first-degree sexual assault, home invasion and first-degree burglary for the incident that occurred on July 11th
Bridgeport Capt. James Viadero told the Post he expects Easton will face additional charges for a similar June 30 case. The department is awaiting lab results.
Easton was arraigned in court on Friday.
