NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 23-year-old man was arrested for risk of injury to his juvenile neighbor.

On Nov. 13 around 4 p.m. police responded to an apartment regarding a complaint about risk of injury to a minor.

According to police, a 13-year-old girl was in her family's apartment with the door unlocked when she saw her neighbor, Calvin Burruss, standing in the doorway.

Burruss told the girl he was home alone and invited her over but she said no and told him to leave, police said.

The girl thought he left but a few minutes later, when she was on her computer, she saw Burruss standing in the doorway again, police reported.

The girl told police Burruss grabbed her and wrapped his arms around her. She said she pushed him away, ran to another room and called her mother.

Police said the mother got on the phone with Burruss and told him to get out of her apartment, then told her daughter to call the Police.

Police arrived and arrested Burruss.

Burruss was charged with risk of injury to a minor, fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree burglary.
