GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Massachusetts man was arrested Friday for a 2007 bank robbery in Groton.
On June 11, 2007, Groton Police responded to a reported robbery of the Citizen's Bank, located at 816 Long Hill Rd., Groton.
After investigating, the bank robbery was connected to a series of bank and drug store robberies that took place in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
A joint investigation involving state, local and federal agencies from the three states, identified Daniel Cahill as a suspect.
Cahill was arrested and pleaded guilty to the robberies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and was incarcerated. During that time, Groton Police obtained an arrest warrant for Cahill.
On November 23rd, after being held at a federal prison in New Jersey, Cahill was released from federal custody and immediately arrested by New Jersey police, charging him as a fugitive from justice.
On November 30th, Groton Police traveled to New Jersey and took Cahill into custody.
Cahill, 36, of 38 Hartford Ave. East, Mendon, Mass., was charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree larceny.
Bond was set at $150,000.
