Arrest made in connection with Hartford homicide

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Hartford man has been arrested in connection with a homicide that happened earlier this week.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, police were notified of a injured person, who might be deceased, at 710 Albany Ave.

Upon arrival, police found 63-year-old Johnny Armstrong deceased in a third floor apartment.

Police began an immediate investigation into the death.

Later in the day, Anthony Lowenstein, 47, of Hartford, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault in connection with the incident.

On Wednesday Chief Rovella said, "in light of today's finding by the Office of the Chief State's Medical Examiner, additional charges will be pursued."

Lowenstein remains in custody on $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 20th in Hartford.

The investigation remains ongoing.
