Arrest made in Jamaican lottery scam

WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- An arrest has been made in the extensive "Jamaican lottery" scam investigation.
 
On Thursday, the Waterford Police Deptartment made the arrest of a local resident Julie Ann Drayton, age 61, of Waterford. She was taken into custody without incident.
 
Drayton is charged with seven counts of larceney 2nd degree, one count of accessory to larceny 1st degree by extortion, one count of money laundering 3rd degree, and one count of corrupt organizations and racketeering activity.
 
Drayton is being held on $100,000 cash bond, pending her appearance in New London Superior Court on Friday, June 15th.
 
The investigation remains on-going.
