Derby, Conn. (WTNH) - Police in four Valley towns have arrested eight people allegedly connected to a ring trafficking in guns and cocaine, and one of the people arrested is connected to a murder in Derby.
Police say the investigation started with the theft of a firearm on April 2nd from a Shelton business. Seven search warrants were executed resulting in the arrests of 8 people.
Arrested in Shelton on a variety of drug and gun charges were:
Keyshon Zimmerman, 24, of New Haven
Tyrone Daniels, 38, of Seymour
Roosevelt Scott, 21, of Hamden
Daniels also faces narcotics charges in Derby, along with 24-year old Ashley Grant of Ansonia.
Arrested in Seymour on drug and gun charges were:
Loraina Chase, 28, of Bridgeport
Carl Cheeseboro, 46, of Ansonia
Jason Walker, 22, of Ansonia
Javon Zimmerman, 20, of Ansonia
Last September, Rodney Trent Baldwin was gunned down on Seventh Street in Derby. The New Haven Register and the Connecticut Post both report that Keyshon Zimmerman is connected to the Baldwin shooting, though he has not yet been charged.
More arrests are expected.
