STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Several arrests have been made following an investigation into a lottery scam ring.
The lottery scam ring was based in Fairfield County and targeted elderly victims across the United States and transferred money to Costa Rica.
To date, 31 victims from across the United States have been identified. Most of the victims are between 80 and 90 years of age and over $165,000 in losses have been documented in the investigation to date.
A total of nine arrest warrants have been issued and the ring leader is believed to reside in Costa Rica.
The seven parties arrested in Connecticut include Kimberly Midgette, Tiffany Midgette, Kinika Harvey, Rannisha Fullmore, Keneeta Washington, Stephanie Handy and Aisha Jones.
Some of the charges include racketeering, money laundering, larceny, and conspiracy. Bonds have been set at anywhere from $20,000 to $150,000.
