VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating after an attempted robbery at a Vernon pharmacy Wednesday morning.
The incident happened around 4:15 a.m., at a CVS, located at 142 Talcottville Rd.
According to police, a man entered the store and attempted to purchase a small item. When the clerk opened the drawer, the suspect then reached over the counter and tried to grab money from the register.
No weapon was displayed or implied during the attempted robbery. Police said the suspect was unable to grab any money from the drawer.
The suspect then fled the store.
Police said the clerk was able to give them a description of the suspect and the vehicle the suspect left in.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, wearing a fuzzy winter hat and a short leather coat with Yankees written on it.
The suspect vehicle was described as a small four door white vehicle, possible a Toyota Corolla, with no tail lights.
Surrounding towns were notified of the attempted robbery, suspect and suspect vehicle.
State Police and Hartford Police later located a possible suspect.
Police said the suspect was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
