STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two people including a juvenile are under arrest for a home invasion in which a baby was held a gunpoint, police said. Authorities are still looking for a third person involved in the crime.
Police arrested Mikel "Mikey" Gjuraj, 22, and a 16-year-old juvenile, both from Stamford.
The incident happened Friday evening at an apartment on Hope street. Police say three men armed with guns entered the apartment after first luring one of the residents outside and assaulting him. Everyone inside, the resident, his wife, their four-month-old daughter and two friends, were forced to the floor at gunpoint.
"At this point, one of the men grabbed the infant, with a gun in his hand and threatened to kill the infant if they did not turn over any money," police said in a news release. The three got some cash and jewelry and took off.
Police identified the teen as a suspect quickly and he was taken into custody that night.
Gjuraj was arrested the next day near his home on Fox Glen Drive after police got a warrant. Four handguns were later found in the trunk of a car on Elm Tree Place.
Police say Gjuraj has a valid pistol permit, and bought three handguns just hours before the crime was committed.
Gjuraj and the teenager each face several charges including home invasion, unlawful restraint, robbery and conspiracy. The teen is in the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center. Gjuraj was held on a $750,000 bond.
Police are still looking for the third person involved in the crime.
