Bar brawl sends several to the hospital

Derby, Conn. (WTNH) - Two people were stabbed during a fight at a Derby bar Wednesday morning.

Police say 20 people were involved in the fight that started around 1:20 a.m. at Break Time at Jaks on Main Street.

Several people were transported to Yale New Haven and Griffin Hospital with injuries, including a 26-year-old male who had been stabbed. He is in stable condition. Police were able to find a knife at the bar.

No word yet on the condition of the other victim who was stabbed.

Alexander Zeilik , 32, was arrested and charged with first degree assault and reckless endangerment for his role in the brawl. He was held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 1.

Derby police say they are still interviewing witnesses and they anticipate more arrests.
