MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police say a body was found in Middletown around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon and the death is being ruled as a homicide.
The body of a young Hispanic woman was found in a wooded area off Miner Street by two hikers shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Police say the hikers noticed blood and followed the trail. They came across a body and immediately called 911.
Police say the woman is 18-30 years old, with long brown hair, 5'4" to 5'6", weighing between 110 and 120 pounds.
A heart shaped tattoo was found on the upper left shoulder. Police ask if anyone knows of a missing woman matching this description or noticed any suspicious activity in the past 24 hours to call 860-344-3200.
Police are continuing the investigation with assistance from the State Police Major Crimes Squad.
